I know I have not posted in a bit, but I was getting any parts for a few days and I was waiting until this past Sunday for the local motorcycle swap meet. Well, the swap meet was packed, but not enough of what i was looking for to repair my bike. I did find a ton of things for my other bikes, but nothing for mine. I did find Carbs (CV40) that I am looking for, but all of them that was not rebuilt they were asking stupid money for and I am not giving money for something I still have to rebuild. I found a built one for the cost of what they were selling the unbuilt ones, but I want to wait until I have it running better before I buy a carb.
I did replace the clutch release. I figured since I had the case off of the bike I would strip the paint and clean it up. The prior owner had done a crappy spray paint job and I was not happy about it. i was not able to get it perfect, but the case is not that great, seems was dropped once and caused a small push where the footage support goes into the case. It is a surface damage and did not mangle the support opening which is nice to see. I am worried that I need a new case, but when I do I will have it powder coated to match the original black. I also found some NOS parts for the bike and ordered some parts to fix the exhaust leak and I am going to pick up some rubber handgrips as a temporary grips to get me on the road. I am hoping to ride on Saturday for a little bit.
I was so excited to find this part. I know it does nothing for getting the bike running, but I loved the idea of getting something like this as it makes it look newer and give it a nice rebirth of a look. I am trying to bring this bike back to its glory. The bike will not be perfect and I might not win trophies with the bike, instead I see it as bringing a small piece of motorcycle history back to life and this bike is not getting younger. Someone has to keep history alive and moving.
